THE BODY REMEMBERS
My body remembers everything. Every gesture, every silence, every wound that tried to disappear. For years, my body lived under a veil, covered, controlled, and spoken for. I grew up learning to hide myself, to shrink, to forget. But the body never forgets. It carries what the world refuses to hold.
In my work, I search for the woman I lost in childhood, the wild, unbound presence I once felt but could never name. For years, she lived behind clouds, hidden beneath fear, tradition, and the violence of war and exile. Through images, self-portraiture and the raw truth of skin, I call her back.
She is no longer in the shadows.
She is no longer a ghost.
She is not behind the clouds
she is the sun.
